The Michael’s Challenge | Photography

Whilst my photography mainly comprises of self-portraits,  sometimes I do get the chance to photograph other beings.

Mina Salome, a stunning model and belly dancer, was in town, and we decided to tackle the Hobby Lobby Challenge. Unfortunately, we went on a Sunday…and Hobby Lobby isn’t open on Sundays. So, we ended up going to Michael’s Store instead.

All was not lost!

We wandered up and down the floral section, taking photos whenever we found a spot that worked. This photo is one of the ones that I took of her during our visit. It was a fun, little challenge. It wasn’t crowded, so we didn’t have to weave our way through customers to get the perfect shot. All in all, I’m quite happy with how the photos have turned out. I’m looking forward to editing the rest of them.

When the Light Is Right

I haven’t been as consistent with my photography as I’d like to be lately. So, it was refreshing to finally be able to create something again.

The back story behind this…A few days ago, I was getting ready to head out the door. Then I glanced over into the Parlour Room. The light was perfect. So I put my bags down, touched up my makeup, and set up my camera. After a couple test shots and a few actual shots, the impromptu photo shoot was done.

I’d consider this to be one of the fastest photo shoots I’ve ever done. It was incredibly last minute and in the moment, and I was quite pleased with the results.
